GB/T 17476-2023 Determination of multielements of lubricating oils and base oils—Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry(ICP-AES)
Abstract
This document describes the method of using inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) to determine the additive elements, wear metals, and contaminants in used and unused lubricating oils and base oils.
This document is applicable to the determination of oil-soluble elements in lubricating oils, base oils, and regenerated base oils. The mass fraction ranges and recommended wavelengths for each element measured in this document are shown in Table 1. When the element content is not within the range shown in Table 1, the measurement can still be carried out using the test process described in this document, but the precision may not be applicable. This document is not suitable for the quantitative analysis of samples containing insoluble particles. Note: The analysis results are related to the size of the particles. If the particle size is greater than a few micrometers, the results obtained may be too low.
