Abstract
This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of the food additive sodium alginate (sodium alginic acid).
This standard applies to sodium alginate (sodium alginic acid) extracted and processed from brown algae such as kelp (Laminaria), kelp (Natans), giant kelp (Macrocystis), and bladderwrack (Ascophyllum), which is used as a food additive.
