Abstract
This document specifies the 12-V and 24-V electrical physical layer (EPL) of the LIN communication system in road vehicles. This document applies to the electrical physical layer design of LIN for low-cost networks with a maximum bit rate of 20 kbit/s, connecting various automotive electronic control units (ECUs). The LIN system connects each transceiver using a single-wire system with grounding as the reference. This document includes definitions of the electrical characteristics of the transmission itself, as well as the basic functions of the bus driver device. All parameters in this document are defined for an environmental temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
