Abstract
This document specifies the method for determining the biaxial flexural strength of fine ceramics and other materials at room temperature using the double ring method.
This document is applicable to the determination of the biaxial flexural strength of single-phase ceramic materials with an average grain size of less than 100 μm. This document is also applicable to the determination of the biaxial flexural strength of multi-phase ceramics with an average grain size (or length) of less than 100 μm in each phase, as well as ceramics reinforced with particles, whiskers, and/or discontinuous fibers.
