Abstract
This part of GB/T 18272 details the method for systematically assessing the safety characteristics of industrial process measurement and control systems. The safety discussed in this part is limited to the hazard sources arising from the industrial process measurement and control systems themselves. This part does not consider the hazard sources that may be introduced by the processes or devices controlled by the evaluated industrial process measurement and control systems. If the system's mission includes activities that may affect the safety of the controlled processes or devices, the requirements for these activities should comply with the provisions of IEC 61508.
