Abstract
This document specifies the method for removing corrosion products formed on corrosion test specimens of metals and alloys in corrosive environments.
Note: The term "metal" used in this document refers to pure metals and alloys.
The purpose of the method specified in this document is to remove all corrosion products while minimally damaging the metal substrate. This enables accurate measurement of the mass loss of the metal in corrosive environments.
This document is also applicable to metal coatings in certain cases, provided that the potential impact of the substrate is taken into account.
