Abstract
Purpose: To determine the purpose and applicability of GB 4943.1—2022, as well as the scope of its non-applicability.
Principle: The scope does not include requirements for functional safety. Functional safety is addressed in GB/T 20438.1. Since the scope includes computers for controllable safety systems, functional safety requirements necessarily include requirements for computer programs and software.
The requirements of GB 4943.23 could be modified and included as a new section of the standard. However, due to the hazard-based nature of GB 4943.1, the requirements of GB 4943.23 have been incorporated into GB 4943.1 and made more general.
The purpose of adding the requirements of GB 4943.23 is to maintain the overall meaning of the technical requirements of GB 4943.23 and incorporate them into GB 4943.1 in accordance with the general format of GB 4943.1, simplifying and facilitating the application of these requirements.
Traditionally, robots fall within the scope of ISO standards and are generally maintained by ISO TC 299. ISO TC 299 has a working group on personal care and service robots, and standards such as ISO 13482 Robots and Robotic Devices—Safety Requirements for Personal Care Robots have been developed.
