GB/T 40080-2021 Nondestructive testing of steel tubes—Automated electromagnetic testing of seamless and welded (except submerged arc-welded) steel tubes for the verification of hydraulic leaktightness
Abstract
This document specifies the automatic electromagnetic testing method for confirming the water pressure tightness of seamless and welded steel pipes (except for submerged arc welding). The eddy current testing method is suitable for steel pipes with an outer diameter greater than or equal to 4 mm, and the magnetic flux leakage testing method is suitable for steel pipes with an outer diameter greater than 10 mm.
This document is also applicable to the testing of hollow profiles.
Note: The electromagnetic testing method using magnetic flux leakage is not suitable for austenitic stainless steel pipes.
