Abstract
This document presents the main concepts, system definitions, basic principles, and basic functional requirements of urban rail transit and urban (suburban) rail transport management and command/control systems that adopt communication-based train control system technology.
This document is applicable to new lines of urban rail transit and urban (suburban) railways that adopt communication-based train control system technology, or to lines that upgrade existing signal and command control systems. It is used in applications involving the following technologies: continuous data communication; continuous monitoring of train movement through train protection curves; and train positioning achieved through external ground devices or train reporting.
