Abstract
This document specifies a method for testing the resistance of glass to erosion using a boiling mixture of sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide aqueous solutions. The alkali resistance of glass is expressed in terms of the mass loss per unit area, and the resistance to erosion by boiling mixed alkali aqueous solutions is graded according to the amount of mass lost.
