This standard specifies the technical requirements, testing methods, quality assessment procedures, and requirements for marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of air traffic control onboard transponders (hereinafter referred to as transponders). This standard applies to the design, production, and acceptance of transponders, and serves as the basic basis for the preparation of transponder product standards.
