Abstract
This standard specifies the preparation of chemical analysis samples for foundry-use silica sand and the test methods for them.
This standard is applicable to the analysis of the silica, alumina, iron oxide, titanium oxide, calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, potassium oxide, and sodium oxide contents, as well as the determination of the acid consumption value in natural silica sand, selected quartz sand, and artificial quartz sand used in foundry applications.
The parallel determination methods in this standard can be selected according to specific circumstances.
