This section specifies the terms and symbols used to study the stability and maneuverability of aircraft (excluding dynamic characteristics). This section applies to fixed-wing aircraft, and may also be used as a reference for other types of aircraft. In this section, the x-axis of the aircraft's coordinate system is close to the aircraft's zero lift line.
