Abstract
This standard specifies the classification and codes of basic geographic information elements, which are used to identify the types of basic geographic information elements in digital form. This standard applies to the collection, updating, management, distribution services, and product development of basic geographic information data, including the construction and application of basic geographic information databases at scales of 1:500 to 1:1,000,000, the construction of public platforms for basic geographic information in various professional information systems, the exchange and sharing of basic geographic information among different systems, and digital mapping, cartography, and map updating, etc.
