This standard specifies the structure, examples, registration authorities, and information and query services of the identification codes for exchanges, trading platforms, regulatory or non-regulatory markets, and trading information dissemination institutions. This standard applies to the identification of the following markets in any application and information exchange: the listing location of financial instruments (public listing location), the execution location of related transactions (trading location), and the publication location of transaction details (trading information dissemination institutions). Market identification codes (MICs) are registered at both the market institution level and the market department level. The MIC codes at the market department level are clearly associated with the MIC codes at the market institution level in the published list.
