Abstract
This standard specifies the structure, display method, and printing position of Chinese standard book numbers, the rules for their allocation and use, the metadata related to Chinese standard book numbers, and the management system for Chinese standard book numbers. This standard provides a unique and internationally recognized identification coding method for each thematic publication and its respective editions published or produced by publishers legally established in China. For a detailed list of the thematic publications to which this standard applies or does not apply, please refer to Appendix A.
