Abstract
This document describes the specimen preparation, testing equipment and fixtures, test procedures, result calculation, and test reports for the shear strength test of disc brake pad assemblies and drum brake shoe assemblies.
This document is applicable to the determination of the shear strength of disc brake pad assemblies and drum brake shoe assemblies in automobiles that are integrally molded, bonded, or use two types of fixing systems. This document is not applicable to the determination of the shear strength of riveted automotive brake pad (shoe) assemblies.
