Abstract
This document:
—— Describes the test method for determining the sound power level of rotating motors;
—— For rotating motors that comply with IEC 60034-1, use the cooling method specified in IEC 60034-6, and meet the protection grade specified in IEC 60034-5, and have the following characteristics, it specifies the maximum value of the A-weighted sound power level during factory acceptance tests when powered by the grid:
● Whether AC or DC motors, they are standard designs, except for those specially modified to reduce sound power levels from an electrical, mechanical, or acoustic perspective;
● Rated output from 1 kW (kVA) to 5,500 kW (kVA);
● Speed not exceeding 3,750 r/min.
Excluding noise generated by AC motors powered by frequency converters. For these cases, guidance is provided in Appendix B.
