This standard provides a summary table of restricted substances in footwear and footwear components.
This standard specifies the restricted substances, their hazard levels, the materials in which they may be present, and the test methods for detection. The standard does not include performance requirements; users should set acceptable concentration levels, such as specified concentrations, detection limits, or quantitative limits.
The test methods recommended in this standard are based on current technological capabilities. Some substances do not have corresponding test methods because such methods had not been published and implemented at the time of this standard's development. If possible, these methods will be added during future revisions of the standard.
This standard applies to footwear products and footwear materials.
