Abstract
This standard specifies the data structure and content of the magnetic stripe data used in initiating financial transactions. It takes into account both human and machine factors, and sets out the minimum requirements for consistency. It includes card layout, recording technology, numbering systems, and registration procedures, but does not cover security requirements. GB/T 17554 specifies the test procedures for ID-1 type cards used to detect the parameters specified in this standard.
