JJG 598-1989 DC Digital Amperemeter
Abstract
This procedure is applicable to the verification of DC digital ammeters (DC-DIMs) that are newly produced, in use, or repaired, as well as the DC current measurement sections of digital multimeters (DMMs) and digital panel meters (DPMs). This procedure is also applicable to the verification of components related to the digital measurement of DC current by converting some physical quantities into DC current.
DC digital voltmeters (DC-DVMs) are the main components of DC digital ammeters. DC-DIMs first convert the current into a voltage using a DC current-voltage (I/V) converter, and then use DC-DVMs to perform digital measurements. The display units are generally in A or mA. Therefore, for digital multimeters, the DC voltage function is usually verified first, and then the DC current verification is carried out.
