JJG 795-2016 Withstanding Voltage Testers
Abstract
This procedure applies to voltage-withstanding testers with a maximum output voltage of no more than 15 kV (hereinafter referred to as voltage-withstanding testers), including AC (power frequency), DC, and AC/DC voltage-withstanding testers with digital displays and pointer indicators, for initial verification, subsequent verification, and in-use inspections. It also applies to the voltage-withstanding portion of comprehensive safety performance testers such as insulation voltage-withstanding testers and leakage voltage-withstanding testers.
This procedure does not apply to testers with pulsed voltage or audio voltage outputs, spark machines for wires and cables, or high-voltage testing equipment for electromagnetic compatibility.
