Abstract
This document specifies the characteristics of digital information exchange between electronic control units of road vehicles based on CAN, the fault-tolerant behavior of the low-speed CAN application layer, and the media-related interfaces and physical media connections based on the ISO/OSI layer model.
This document is applicable to CAN serial communication protocols with transmission rates ranging from 40 kbps to 125 kbps, supporting distributed control and multiplexing.
