Abstract
This document covers all equipment within the scope of IEC 61326-1, but its scope is limited to industrial systems and equipment that are expected to perform safety functions in accordance with SIL1 to SIL3 as specified in IEC 61508.
The electromagnetic environment covered by this series of product standards refers to indoor and outdoor industrial sites, such as those described in IEC 61000-6-2 or IEC 61326-1:2012, Section 3.8. This document does not include equipment and systems intended for use in other electromagnetic environments, such as process industries or potentially explosive environments.
According to IEC 61508 or IEC 61511, equipment and systems that have been proven in use are not included in the scope of this document.
Fire alarm systems and safety alarm systems for protecting buildings are not within the scope of this document.
