Abstract
This standard applies to the lightning protection of wind turbine generators and their component systems.
The normative reference documents are general standards for lightning protection of machinery and devices, as well as electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), low-voltage systems, and high-voltage systems.
This standard defines the lightning environment of wind turbine generators and the environmental application of risk assessment for wind turbine generators. It specifies requirements for preventing blades, other structural components, and electrical and control systems from being directly or indirectly affected by lightning. The standard also provides recommended testing methods for verifying compliance.
