This document specifies the product information, normal operating conditions, structural and performance requirements, and inspection categories for various open-type power resistors (such as braking resistors, heating resistors, absorption resistors, and filter resistors) in the main and auxiliary circuits of locomotives and rolling stock. It also describes the corresponding test methods. Among them, the environmental conditions, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, and transportation of the braking resistor devices in AC-driven diesel locomotives are specified in Appendix C. This document is applicable to the design, manufacture, and inspection of open-type power resistors used in rail transit locomotives and rolling stock. For other vehicles (such as mining locomotives, trolleybuses, etc.), the requirements for open-type power resistors in electrical equipment should be implemented with reference to this document.
