Abstract
This standard specifies the terminology for self-propelled tracked and wheeled mechanical excavators and their working devices/accessory devices. Mechanical excavators are mainly used for traction, excavation, grasping, and temporary lifting operations. In special applications such as drilling and piling, the main unit of mechanical excavators is often used as the carrier of working devices/accessory devices, the size and specifications of which are not within the scope of this standard.
