This standard specifies the grades, order information, production methods, chemical compositions, technical requirements, sample preparation, test methods, inspection rules, marking and quality certificates, rust prevention, packaging, and storage of nodular cast iron parts. This standard applies to ordinary or low-alloy ferritic-pearlitic nodular cast iron parts cast in sand molds or molds with thermal conductivity equivalent to sand molds, as well as ferritic nodular cast iron parts strengthened by solid solution. Nodular cast iron parts produced by special casting methods can also be used as reference. This standard does not apply to nodular cast iron pipes, nodular cast iron fittings, accessories, and joints; this standard does not apply to austenitic nodular cast iron; this standard does not apply to austenitic-ferritic nodular cast iron (isothermal quenched nodular cast iron).
