Abstract
This document specifies the requirements for ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (PE-UHMW) molding materials (such as plates and rods) used in surgical implants, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document is applicable to ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (PE-UHMW) molding materials.
This document is not applicable to products that are directly molded into their final form, irradiated products, or finished products, nor to products made from polyethylene containing additives or blends of different types of polyethylene.
