This document specifies the alarm triggering and transmission, use and maintenance information of the alarm system, as well as the requirements for on-site testing before the elevator is used. This document describes the major hazards, dangerous states, and dangerous events related to elevators, namely: when the elevator is used as intended and under misuse scenarios reasonably anticipated by the manufacturer, there is a risk of users being trapped in the car and shaft. This document applies to the alarm systems of passenger elevators and freight elevators. This document does not apply to: a) communication network failures (see Appendix A), including mobile network signal strength or similar situations; b) power supply network failures causing simultaneous entrapment failures in elevators in the same area; c) elevator remote alarm systems installed before their implementation.
