This part of GB/T 24679 specifies the safety and environmental requirements for the design and manufacture of backpack sprayers carried on the back or shoulders of operators, as well as the verification methods. It also stipulates the types of information provided by manufacturers regarding safe operation (including residual risks). This part applies to backpack sprayers, backpack compressor sprayers, and hydraulic atomizing backpack sprayers driven by engines or motors, used for agricultural and horticultural purposes with a rated capacity of the drug tank greater than 3 L and operated by a lever. It does not apply to backpack spray-and-powder machines specified in ISO 28139. This part addresses major hazards, dangerous states, and dangerous events related to the normal use or reasonably foreseeable misuse of backpack sprayers (see Appendix A), but does not include hazards caused by static electricity, explosions or fires caused by chemical pesticides, or insufficient structural integrity. This part does not apply to backpack sprayers manufactured before its publication.
