Abstract
This standard specifies the basic characteristics of paper-based document collections in libraries and archives, as well as the requirements for the preservation and protection of documents.
This standard applies to paper-based documents that need to be preserved for a long time or permanently.
This standard does not include the preservation requirements for non-paper-based documents, such as film-based, magnetic, optical, and electronic documents.
This standard also does not include the management procedures for document collections.
