Abstract
This standard specifies the relevant terms, performance, design, structure, operation, acceptance, inspection, and maintenance requirements for free-fall lifeboat launching and retrieval devices (hereinafter referred to as free-fall launching devices).
This standard applies to launching and retrieval devices used for launching and retrieving free-fall lifeboats (hereinafter referred to as lifeboats) via inclined slides installed on ships and offshore platforms.
