Abstract
This standard provides a comprehensive set of general description specifications covering various types of resources, stipulating the order in which data elements are recorded or transcribed, as well as the identifiers used to identify and display data elements.
This standard applies to the description of various types of resources by bibliographic institutions, including books, serial publications, integrated resources, electronic resources, images, map resources, sheet music, audio and video resources, ancient books, rubbings, manuscripts, dissertations, etc.
This standard is also applicable to the production of bibliographic data by national bibliographic institutions, library and information institutions, or other organizations.
