Scope

This document specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation, and storage for synthetic quartz glass deposition tubes used in the preparation of optical fibers. This document is applicable to synthetic quartz glass deposition tubes (hereinafter referred to as synthetic quartz tubes) used in the deposition process to prepare low-water-peak optical fiber cores or preform rods. Quartz glass tubes for other purposes can refer to this document.
