Scope

This document specifies the minimum acceptable requirements for the reliability analysis of nuclear power plant safety systems.
This document applies to nuclear power plant safety electrical instrumentation and control systems subject to reliability analysis. Other systems may refer to and use it for reference.
The methods described in this document also apply to non-safety systems or parts of systems associated with safety systems that require reliability analysis.
This document applies to all stages of the design, manufacture, testing, and maintenance of systems and components. The timing of the analysis depends on the purpose of the analysis.
This document also applies to the reliability analysis of safety systems in other nuclear facilities.
