Scope

This document is applicable to the focal point of medical diagnostic X-ray tube assemblies operating at X-ray tube voltages of 150 kV and below.
This document describes the test methods for measuring the following using digital detectors:
a) The focal point size, expressed as the nominal value of the focal point, ranging from 0.1 to 3.0;
b) The line spread function;
c) The one-dimensional modulation transfer function;
d) Focal pinhole radiographs.
This document also describes the methods of demonstrating compliance.
In the informative appendices, star imaging (see Appendix A) and defocus values (see Appendix B) are described.
