Scope

This document specifies the measurement method for the sound power level of reciprocating internal combustion engines—the on-site measurement simplified method.
This document is applicable to reciprocating internal combustion engines within the scope of ISO 3046-1, as well as other internal combustion engines for which no suitable standards are available.
Note: In this document, unless otherwise specified, reciprocating internal combustion engines are referred to as "engines" for short.
