GB/T 23819-2018 Safety of machinery—Fire prevention and protection

Scope

This standard specifies the methods for identifying fire hazards and risk assessments caused by machinery. This standard provides the basic concepts and methods for fire prevention and fire-fighting measures required in the process of machinery design and manufacturing. These measures take into account the intended use of the machine and reasonably foreseeable misuse. This standard provides guidelines for reducing the fire risk of machinery to an acceptable level through machine design, risk assessment, and operator manuals. This standard does not apply to: -- Mobile machinery; -- Machinery designed to contain controlled combustion processes (e.g., internal combustion engines, boilers), unless such combustion processes can form ignition sources in other parts of the machinery or outside the machine; -- Machinery used in potentially explosive environments and for explosion prevention; -- Fire detection and fire-extinguishing systems integrated into building fire safety systems. This standard also does not apply to machinery or machinery components manufactured before the publication of this standard.
