Scope

This standard specifies the format and content of the data stored by the registry, as well as the data processing processes, algorithms, and technical interfaces used by the registry to regularly back up registration data to third-party service providers. This enables another registry to rebuild the former's registration services promptly without requiring the latter's assistance and with minimal disruption to its users. Since the details of the registration services provided by each registry vary, this standard provides an extensible mechanism that can accommodate changes and expansions to registration services. Based on this standard, registries can implement third-party hosting functions for registration data and ensure the security and integrity of the hosted data. The design of this specification is independent of the content of the hosted data, so it can be used for purposes other than domain name registration. This standard applies to the construction of new generic top-level domain name systems that comply with both ICANN technical specifications and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's Domain Name Management Measures.
