Scope

Scope: This document specifies the environmental requirements for the cultivation of plateau sprout chicory, including site selection, variety selection, yield targets, cultivation techniques, and the production of softened sprouts. This document applies to the cultivation and softening production of plateau sprout chicory. Main technical content: 8.3 Cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of sprout cultivation facilities: - Use a 2,000-fold solution of potassium permanganate to clean the hydroponic tanks, recirculating water tanks, and pipes. - Add the solution through the intake pipe into the recirculating water tank, then pump it into the hydroponic tanks. - Close the return water collection pipe and disinfect for 20 minutes to ensure thorough sterilization. - Afterward, open the return water collection pipe and drain the disinfectant solution from the recirculating water tank. - For systems equipped with intelligent control systems, conduct UV sterilization for 1–2 hours. - Cultivation environment control: - Grow in a dark environment with a temperature of 15–18 °C and a humidity of 70–95%. - Ventilate for 30–60 minutes daily. - Pre-treatment: Remove the chicory fleshy roots from refrigeration, clean them, and disinfect in a 2,000-fold solution of potassium permanganate for 30 minutes. - After disinfection, trim off the upper leaves and root tips of the root crown, leaving a 15–20 cm-long tapered root. - Place the treated fleshy roots upright in the hydroponic tanks. - Water management: Maintain a water level of 3–5 cm during cultivation, ensuring water quality meets NY/T 391 standards. - Water temperature management: Maintain a temperature of 15–18 °C.
