Scope

This document describes the method for determining the content of caprolactam and oligomers in polyamide 6 (PA6) pellets and fibers.
Method A (high performance liquid chromatography) is suitable for polyamide 6 pellets and polyamide 6 fibers (Nylon 6), and other PA6 products can be referenced for implementation; Method B (acid hydrolysis spectrophotometry) is suitable for polyamide 6 fibers (Nylon 6); Method C (redox titration) is suitable for fiber-grade polyamide 6 pellets, and it is also suitable for the rapid determination of caprolactam and oligomers in polyamide 6 fibers within enterprises.
