Scope

This standard specifies the categories of inspection items, testing methods, steps, evaluation methods, and assessment reports for the safety assessment of metal structures of gantry cranes. This standard applies to the safety assessment of metal structures of gantry cranes, but the safety assessments of mechanisms, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems are not included in this standard. This standard does not apply to gantry cranes used under the following conditions: ——environments with flammable and explosive, combustible gases; ——toxic gas environments; ——nuclear radiation environments.
