Scope

This standard specifies the basic methods and technical requirements for the regular inspection and evaluation of welded insulated gas cylinders for automotive use using liquefied natural gas (LNG). This standard applies to welded insulated gas cylinders for automotive use that are used in normal environmental temperatures (–40°C to 60°C), filled with low-temperature liquefied natural gas, with a design temperature not lower than –196°C, a single nominal volume not exceeding 500 L, and an operating pressure of 0.2 MPa to 3.5 MPa. These high-vacuum layered structure welded insulated gas cylinders for automotive use (hereinafter referred to as "automotive welded insulated gas cylinders") are subject to regular inspection and evaluation of their cylinder bodies, assembly components, and safety accessories. This standard does not apply to the regular inspection and evaluation of components externally connected to the gas cylinders and their connecting pipelines (except for the safety valve discharge pipes).
