Scope

This document specifies the requirements for straight or pre-formed hoses or pure rubber hoses used in boosting or pressure relief cooling systems of internal combustion engines or electric vehicles with a self-weight of 3.5 t or less, where 1,2-ethylene glycol (CAS No.: 107-21-1) is used as a coolant. This document serves as a classification method to enable original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to provide detailed markings for specialized tests not included in the specified main types (see the example in Appendix D). In this case, the hoses or pure rubber hoses do not bear any markings indicating the document number, but are identified by markings detailed in the OEM's parts drawings.
