T/YNRZ 025-2024 Seedling cultivation technique for melon and other vegetable varieties

Scope

Scope: This document specifies the environmental and facility requirements, variety selection, pre-sowing preparation, direct seedling production, grafting seedling production, seedling hardening, nursery requirements, and seedling archiving for the production of melon and vegetable seedlings. This document applies to the seedling production of melon and vegetables. Main technical content: 1. Terms and definitions: The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 1.1 Proximity grafting: The grafting method in which the scion and rootstock are placed close to each other, and the two seedlings are grafted by embedding the scion into the rootstock through incisions on the hypocotyl. After the grafted seedling survives, the root system of the scion is cut off to replace the root system. 1.2 Approach grafting: Also known as bud grafting. This grafting method involves cutting off the root of the scion and retaining only a small portion of the hypocotyl (the portion of the seedling stem below the cotyledons), or cutting a branch segment from a vine and using it as the scion. After sloping the rootstock from the top and attaching the cut surface of the scion or branch segment to the rootstock surface, the grafted seedling is fixed to form a grafted seedling. 2. Environmental and facility requirements 2.1 Environmental conditions: Select a location with convenient transportation, flat terrain, good ventilation, and sufficient sunlight. The air quality shall comply with GB 3095, and the irrigation water quality shall comply with GB 5084. 2.2 Seedling facilities 2.2.1 Select greenhouses, large sheds, and other facilities; 2.2.2 Shade nets, fans, mist systems or mist generators, dehumidification equipment, and insect-proof nets; 2.2.3 Fixed or movable seedbeds, with a length of ≤40 m, a width of 1.3 m to 1.6 m, and a height of 0.9 m to 1.0 m; 2.2.4 Select 32-hole or 50-hole tray trays. 3.
