Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of flat-plate solar collectors (hereinafter referred to as "collectors"), the structural components of collectors and recommended material selection grades, selection principles, requirements, and test methods. This standard applies to the selection of materials for flat-plate solar collectors that use solar radiation for heating, with a heat transfer medium of liquid and an operating temperature not exceeding 100°C. This standard does not apply to flat-plate solar collectors without cover plates and those with non-metallic material absorbers.
