Scope

This guide specifies the terms and definitions, guiding principles, general rules, preliminary requirements, directions for the reclamation and utilization of tailings piles, technical requirements for pollution prevention and control, technical requirements for water and soil conservation, technical measures, post-reclamation management, quality control, quality inspection and acceptance, and safeguard measures for the reclamation of iron mine tailings piles. This guide applies to iron mine tailings piles, including those under construction, those in operation, and those that have completed their service period. The reclamation work of other similar tailings piles can be carried out with reference to this guide. This guide does not apply to tailings piles containing radioactive elements and rare earth elements in geological materials.
