Scope
This standard specifies the general principles for setting the baseline range and sensitivity (such as gain adjustment) when performing manual detection with A-scan ultrasonic detectors, with the aim of ensuring that the position of the reflector and the height of the echo can be measured repeatedly.
This standard applies to single-crystal or dual-crystal single-probe contact technology, but not to liquid immersion technology and multi-probe technology.
