Scope

This standard specifies the ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method for the determination of four tobacco-specific nitrosamines (N-nitrosopyrrolidine (NNN), N-nitrosonoradrenaline (NAT), N-nitrosopseudoeugenol (NAB), and 4-(methylnitrosamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanone (NNK)) in tobacco and tobacco products. This standard is applicable to the determination of the tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNAs) listed in Table 1 in tobacco and tobacco products.
